Lynnwood/Fire District 1 RFA Planning Committee Seeks Applicants to Draft Pro/Con Statements for Voters Pamphlet
LYNNWOOD, WA (April 21, 2017) – The Lynnwood/Fire District 1 Regional Fire Authority Planning Committee is seeking citizens to serve on pro and con committees to prepare statements for the voter’s pamphlet on a potential ballot measure to create a regional fire authority encompassing the boundaries of Lynnwood and Snohomish County Fire District 1.
The Planning Committee is asking elected officials in both jurisdictions to place the Regional Fire Authority (RFA) Plan on the Aug. 1 primary election ballot for voters in the City of Lynnwood and Snohomish County Fire District 1, which serves unincorporated communities including Hilltop, Hilton Lake, Keeler’s Corner, Lake Serene, Lake Stickney, Mariner, Martha Lake, Picnic Point and Silver Firs.
Pro and con committees must be appointed by May 12.
To be considered for appointment to the pro or con committee, citizens must submit a letter of interest to Planning Committee Secretary Amanda Thompson, Snohomish County Fire District 1, 12425 Meridian Avenue S., Everett WA 98208 or email@example.com no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2. Letters should indicate whether the applicant wishes to serve on the pro committee (supporting creation of the RFA) or the con committee (opposing creation of the RFA).
