Update 6 | June 25, 2019 | Tuesday

Incident Summary  | The WOODBURY FIRE was actively burning on the Tonto National Forest in a remote area of the Superstition Mountains but has since seen minimal activity, which is great news for this wildfire.  This fire has been burning since June 8, 2019.

The now 115,750-acre wildfire is listed as the State’s sixth largest fire.  Fire crews have successfully reached a 48% containment status.

Location | About 5 miles northwest of Superior; 8 miles southeast of Roosevelt Marina and about 4 miles south of Roosevelt, Arizona.

Fire Behavior | Minimal fire activity allowing Fire Managers, however they expect this incident to be far from over as they are still working on gaining full suppression and it burning for the next few weeks.  Fire Officials are asking the public NOT to report smoke from this fire, as they are monitoring the current fire situation.

Fire Resources | There are still a reported 931 fire personnel, along with 18 crews, 45 engines and  helicopters that are showing still assigned but the IC has started the process of releasing them.

Incident Cooperators | Superstition Fire and Rescue, Golder Ranch FD, Pinal County EMA, Maricopa County, Gila County EMA, Tonto NF, American Red Cross, AZ DOT, FEMA, AZ DOEQ, AZ Department of Public Safety, Apache Junction (City), AZ State Forestry, BLM AZ Fire, Gila County SO, Maricopa County SO, Pinal County SO and Tri-City Fire District, Flagstaff IMET, New Mexico Fire Dispatchers, and Arizona Humane Society.

Evacuations | The Gila County Sheriff Office has lifted all evacuation orders and notifications.

Closures | All roadways have been reopened, as well as the highway.  The Tonto National Monument remains CLOSED.

Damage Assessments | The total cost of fire suppression efforts and containment expenses, have toppled out at $16,000,000.

For a fire this large, we are are happily to report 0 structures destroyed, which say a lot about the men and women behind the scenes, from the skies above, on the fire line and those who support them all.  Thank you!
