JUNE 28, 2020 | HIAWATHA 2 FIRE | WA

Grant County, Washington

A wildfire broke out near the Hiawatha Lake, just west of Moses Lake.  The local Fire Department, Grant County Fire District #5, BLM and DNR were dispatched and responded to the area to assist with fire suppression efforts and holding the fire to half-of-an-acre.

Fire fuels included:  grass and brush.

At the time of this post, BLM was on-scene with an investigator while crews were mopping up the area.  A preliminary cause is unknown at this time.
