SIT REP 1: Saturday, July 8, 2023, 2030 PT

A new wildfire named the BOULDER FIRE is burning near Mt. Hood in Maupin (Wasco County), Oregon, and can be seen from TUNNEL 5 FIRE near White Salmon, Washington State.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Fire Size

The fire has burned about 50 acres of unknown fire fuels. When it was first reported, it was listed as a two-acre fire (1557 PT) but would quickly spread across the heavy fire fuels to bring the new total to 25 acres.

  • Campgrounds: Badger Lake, Post Camp, and Camp Wendy (1733 PT)
