SIT REP 1: Sunday, August 13, 2023, 1300 PT
The WILEY CREEK FIRE aka WILEY FIRE has been burning since August 7, 2023, and started on private land about six-to-ten miles southeast of Sweet Home, Oregon on the Willamette National Forest Service (Lead Agency).

Linn County Sheriff’s Office: Level 1 and 2 evacuation orders have been issued by the Sheriff’s Office.

Air Assets: Type 2 copters have been dipping out of a pond north of the Little Wiley Creek and the Type 1 Scooper planes have been using the Green Peter Reservoir.
The cause has been deemed undetermined at this time and is under investigation.
There have been 241 total acres of timber burned on very steep terrain. There is a 15% containment status.
Moderate fire behavior has been observed along with isolated torching, backing, and creeping.
Evacuation notices are in effect, due to structures being threatened.
Road closures are in place.
The cost-to-date has reached $819,000 for fire suppression and containment efforts.
