The GRAY FIRE is burning in the Medical Lake area in Spokane County, Washington, which ignited on Friday, August 18, 2023, from an undetermined cause.

Current Status

The fire has burned about 9,500+ acres with a 0% containment status and has burned about 185+ structures lost.

Evacuations in Effect

Level 2 and 3 evacuations are in effect.

Impacted areas included the City of Medical Lake, Cheney, Four Lakes, Lakeland Village, Eastern State Hospital, Martin Hall, and Pine Lodge.
