The WELCOME FIRE is located 12 miles South of Port Arthur, Texas in the TX Point National Wildlife Refuge (FWS).

Active fire behavior has been observed with isolated torching and smoldering.

Structures and energy infrastructure are under threat.

About 1,600 acres have been burned. A 50% containment status has been reached.

There are 23 total personnel along with four engines.

The total cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts has reached $25,000.
