Firefighters were dispatched again to another wildfire this week but this time just after noon to the area of Walaka Street and South Kihei Road in Maui County, Maui Hawaii.
As first due units arrived, they called in a fast-moving wildfire burning near residential structures which quickly forced resources to put a structure protection group in operation.
The fire was brought under control at 1300 hours and put out at 1337 hours.
Engine 6 (Kihei), Engine 14 and Tanker 14 (Wailea), Relief Engine 10 and Relief Tanker 10 all responded to this incident.
Approximately one acre was burned.
No damages were reported.
Its cause is unknown at the time of this update and under investigation.
