PORTLAND, OREGON — This week, 28 members of the Portland Fire Fighters Pipes and Drums, a non-profit organization staffed with those from the IAFF Local 43 came together in unison along with 10 piper recruits.

Unfortunately, some members were missed due to being at home with sickness. We know they will be springing back on their feet in no time and rejoining their band members.
Like other groups in the United States and around the world, they came together to practice, rehearse, professionalism, the quality of their sound, choice of sounds, expert guidance, and retention efforts which they know leads to success.
Some of the practice locations they use are parking lots, alleys, garages, barns, hay fields, conference rooms, auditoriums, living rooms, and a warehouse shared by this band and the Portland Police Highland Guard Pipes and Drums.
Cannot wait until they are back performing so we can hear their great and wonderful-sounding music.
If you ever get a chance to hear any type of bagpipe music in person or online, you will be amazed by their talents playing many sounding notes.
