OKANOGAN COUNTY, WASHINGTON — A new wildfire has reportedly broken out in the 60 block of Sunset Ridge Road in the County this morning.


LEVEL 3 reduced to LEVEL 1 ADVISORY IN EFFECT: Crest Drive, 9 Mile Road, and Point Drive (as of 1530 hours PT)

Resources were dispatched at 1051 hours this morning to this location, which includes the following resources showing current assigned to this incident:

  • SO 60 and 26.
  • COF Crew 1.
  • NCR E-1.
  • HI Units: 7108, 7105, 60, 28, 7111 and 27.
  • E 692.
  • Dozers: 7150, 7250, and 7251.
  • DNR 33.
  • BC 92.

There is information stating State Mobe resources are also included in these totals. The exact number of personnel, types of equipment, and who is deployed is unknown at the time of this update.


WEATHER ALERT IN EFFECT: Excessive Warning Alert issued August 3, 2024, 1215 PT. (NWS)


The current weather temps as of 1616 hours PT, are 101*F with four miles-per-hour and relative humidity at 18%. The high was forecasted for 103*F and to drop this evening to a cool 70*F. Tomorrow, the temps are due to drop to a cooler day of 99*F.

An Air Quality Alert was issued yesterday at 1037 in the morning.

The fire has burned about 160 acres and there is a 60% containment status as of 1405 hours PT.
