As of the most recent media press release on March 3, 2012, FEMA and its federal partners stand by ready to help communities hit by weather damage in the Midwest and Southern states which occured this week.

Closely monitoring through their regional offices located in Kansas City, Chicago and Atlanta, they are in constant contact with state emergency officials in states that have been affected by severe weather, including tornadoes. Their National Response Coordination Center in Washington, DC and Regional Response Coordination Center in Chicago are full activated and ready to assist.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones and those whose lives have been affected by the storms. Our priority, as always, is to make sure that we are here to support local efforts to keep residents and communities safe. FEMA has teams on the ground in hard hit areas and is prepared to deploy additional teams and resources if needed by the states,” said FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate.

No information has been received if the US&R teams have been deployed or any other private entities to the affected areas.  We will keep you updated as information arrives from various sources.
