Take one written exam and be placed in an eligibility pool for employment with thirteen districts/departments in Colorado: Boulder, Black Hawk, Federal Heights, Lafayette, Littleton, Longmont, Louisville, Mountain View, North Metro, North Washington, Southwest Adams, Thornton and Westminster.

The Firefighter Intraregional Recruitment and Employment (FIRE) program is a collaborative screening and testing program for entry-level firefighter candidates administered by the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG).

The next test is on June 4, 2012–deadline to apply is May 4. Scores are valid for one year. Having an EMT or Paramedic certification is a benefit. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.
