Overview:
The primary job responsibilities of the Transport Service Representatives are to obtain all necessary authorizations and paperwork.
Responsibilities:
Administrative

  • Processes all non 9-1-1 transportation requests and evaluates the need to obtain authorization or additional documentation for transportation.
  • Works with hospital/facility staff members to ensure documentation for medical necessity is met for the requested level of transport.
  • Respond and effectively pursue pre-transport billing processes to alleviate errors and billing delays after transport.
  • Input pertinent information into the PCS CAD form for printing and dissemination via FAX machine.
  • May be required to perform data entry from multiple sources simultaneously.
  • Expediently access, understand, record and communicate information from CAD and other informational sources.
  • Respond and effectively pursue pre-transport billing processes to alleviate errors and billing delays after transport.
  • Process patients by name and date of birth through appropriate Billing and third party payer systems to confirm eligibility and coverage.
  • Processes authorizations and Documentation received both prior to and after completion of the transport for forwarding to billing.
  • Notifies dispatchers of required documentation to be obtained by transporting crews
  • Passes on critical information onto Rural/Metro management when appropriate.

Training

  • Participate in all required training sessions, including but not limited to any mandatory Company training.
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings, continuing education sessions, or other programs.
  • Attend special training and familiarization workshops dealing with innovation in the operation of telecommunications systems and related equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred. 
  • Building and fostering excellent achievement through teamwork.
  • Excellent analytical skills and quality orientation-strives for continuous improvement in all activities to consistently achieve excellent results and meet or exceed department expectations.
  • Must have computer competency including proficiency with Microsoft Suite, and understanding of database programs.
  • Typing wpm 40 (minimum).
  • Must have the ability to consistently deliver outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, managers, supervisors, and external customers.
  • Excellent ability to communicate and work cohesively across Department lines.
  • Highly dependable and ability to meet internal deadlines consistently, ability to work with other departments and meet their deadlines as well.
  • Strong organization skills and attentiveness to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing and able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in groups.
    • Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.

 

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
