June 15— A Seattle Fire Investigator determined a fire at a building under construction was an electrical fire between a power cable and the man lift. The man lift is a temporary elevator.

At 7:15 p.m. multiple 911 call came in reporting heavy black smoke coming from the 3rd floor of an 8-story building under construction at the corner of 8th Avenue North and Republican Street. Firefighters ran a ladder up to the third floor of the building and carried hose lines up three stories to reach the flames.

Once inside the building, firefighters contained the fire to an area in the center of the building near an electrical panel.

The fire investigator estimates the damage at 30 thousand dollars to the building and 20 thousand dollars to the contents.

No one was inside the building when the fire broke out and no one was injured.
