July 25—Seattle Firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire at a waste handling facility in the 7200 block of West Marginal Way SW.
At 8:43 a.m., a 911 call came into the Fire Alarm Center reporting a waste pile fire at the facility. Engine Company 36 arrived to find light smoking coming from a 40 by 80 foot pile of smoldering trash.
Workers at the facility already began spraying the fire with water and also helped dig the smoldering embers out. Firefighters spent 7 minutes pumping foam on the fire in order to completely extinguish it.
There were no injuries.
