FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – July 27, 2012 – Wimberger’s Old World Bakery & Delicatessen is conducting a voluntary recall of all Kaiser Rolls, Seeded Rolls, Brat Buns, French Bread, Pretzel Rolls, Pretzels, Pizza Dough, Hoagie Rolls and French Baguettes because they contain undeclared Milk, Soy and Wheat. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Milk, Soy or Wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The baked products were distributed to grocery stores, delicatessens and restaurants located in Colorado and Kansas.

Although all of the affected products are not Kaiser rolls, each is packed in semi-transparent plastic bags identified “fresh from the OVEN SOUR DOUGH 12 KAISER ROLLS, NET WT 20 OZ, WIMBERGER’S OLD WORLD BAKERY 2321 Bott St., Colorado Springs, Colo 80904”. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that products containing undeclared amounts of Milk, Soy and Wheat were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of the allergens. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a labeling transcription omission from one of the sub-ingredient’s (margarine) used in the production of the recalled products.

Customers who have purchased any of the affected products which do not contain a “Contains Milk, Soy and Wheat” sticker may return them to the place of purchase or discard them immediately.
