Another fire labeled suspicious on Charleston’s West Side

Charleston Fire Fighters were on the scene of a fire at the corner of Glen Street and Indiana Ave on the City’s Westside. The blaze began at around 8:30 Friday night. 13NEWS is told the home was abandoned. This is the latest west side fire that authorities are investigating as suspicious.
Huntington Firefighters

Crews are on the scene of a house fire in the 800 block of 22nd Street in Huntington. Firefighters say a mattress inside the home caught on fire. Nobody is hurt, however, the home is fully engulfed.
Moline firefighters battle house fire; several pets die

Firefighters were dispatched to the building at 10:22 a.m. after receiving reports of a possible fire, said Moline Fire Capt. Mike Maynard. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found “fire blowing out of the west side” of the building through a second-floor window.

Whether it is a co-worker, friend, family member or ourselves this disease has affected us all in some way. Here in Portsmouth we know it all to well. Many of you know we have lost two active members to cancer in the past year.

On Friday October 19th, Members of Upper Darby Professional Firefighters Local 2493, along with Mayor Thomas N. Micozzie, Upper Darby CAO Thomas J. Judge Jr, and Fire Chief Edward Cubler showed their support in the fight against Breast Cancer. Like many local across the country, we donned our Pink T-Shirts for the day and took some pictures at Station 26 in Highland Park section of the Township.
Joplin Fire Fighters Win Pension Ruling

The members of IAFF Local 2618, Joplin Fire Fighters have won a significant court ruling regarding Pension Benefits for those members who become disabled or die in the line-of-duty. This lawsuit was filed by Tom Robertson, who is a retired member of IAFF Local 2618. The Joplin Globe covered this story on October 15, 2012, and you can read the entire story by clicking here.

Bangor names new fire chief
