East Pierce Firefighters would like to congratulate one of our own tonight on his promotion to Fire Chief.  IAFF Local 3520 member, and current Battalion Chief Zane Gibson was sworn in and officially named the new Fire Chief of Orting Valley Fire & Rescue at the Board of Fire Commissioners meeting for OVFR at Orting Sta 40.

Chief Gibson has been a part of and served the communities in East Pierce as a volunteer firefighter in the 90’s, then as a career firefighter since April of 1998 making his way thru the ranks to his current title.

He officially takes the reins from outgoing Fire Chief Paul Webb on January 1st. We wish him well in his future endeavors and know we will continue to see him on alarms, functions, and working together as our two organizations already do. Congratulations Chief Gibson on your promotion, and enjoy your retirement Chief Webb!
