Firefighter/EMT (part-time). District is seeking a dedicated individual interested in the position of Part-Time Firefighter/EMT. This is a position with Fire District 7 and is supported by the Town of Rosalia Fire Department. Rosalia, WA is a rural town with a population of 690. It is located on the eastern side of Washington State in the north central part of Whitman County, 35 miles south of The City of Spokane and Fairchild Air Force Base. Whitman County Fire Protection District 7 serves a population of 1,600 that encompasses the area surrounding Rosalia.

Rosalia Fire Department and WCFD7 share a fire station that is staffed by the same volunteers who respond to over 400 emergencies a year. We cover an area of over 195 square miles of rolling hills that consist mainly of agricultural and timber land. We have automatic aid agreements with our surrounding cities and districts. This adds an additional 350 square miles of response area, some of which lies in Spokane County.

Applicants must…

  • Be at least 18 years of age and be a High School Graduate or equivalent. 
  • Have a valid driver’s license with good driving record; they must be a citizen of the United States or an alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States;
  • Be an IFSAC Firefighter I or equivalent and possess a current Washington State EMT-Basic Certification or equivalent.

The position will consist of 24 hours a week. The schedule of shifts will be flexible and negotiated between the successful candidate and the Chief. Applicants must be able to pass a physical agility test, background investigation, pre-employment physical, and drug screen. Rate of pay is $15.00 per hour.
