Medic Unit Dispatched to Magnuson Park Water Rescue | 3

SEATTLE, Washington

Fire Department rescue swimmers and fireboats were dispatched at 2244 PDT on Tuesday night, July 21, 2020, to reports of an adult female that fell off an approximately 23-foot boat into the water without a life preserver on.

Units include A14, A2, B2, B6, E17, E38, E6, FIREBOAT 5, L9, M17, M44, SPD PATROL4, R1, SAFT2, FIREBOAT1.

They would eventually code green everyone except for E38, B6 and FIREBOAT1. (2343)

The female patient was being transported by FIREBOAT1 to a location where Medic 17 could meet up with them and transport her to the hospital.  Coordination of details were still in motion on Wednesday morning, July 22, 2020 at 00:03 hours PT.

Harbor2 reported the patient as alert and talking.  It was stated could be transported in a BLS unit.

The incident was reported in the 7800 block of 62nd Avenue N.E. in the Magnuson Park area.

The Wildfire Log | Bald Mtn Rd Fire | WA | 2

YAKIMA, Wash. | An RV fire reportedly sparked a brush-turned-wildfire on Sunday, June 2, 2019 in the late morning.  The fire was said to be about 1.7 miles southeast of the Squaq Rock Campground.

Fire crews and equipment was quickly dispatched via the Central Washington Interagency Communications Center from Yakima City FD, County, WA DNR and Nile FD to approximately 1-1.5 miles up Bald Mtn. Rd and located between Mileposts 103 and 104 off of Hwy 410 in Yakima.

Resources consisted of three brush trucks, one DNR helicopter and multiple engines, as well as fire support personnel.

The fire was stopped heading south down to 410 but it continued to move uphill and burning on the hillside above.

Firefighters egressed on the RV fire putting it out and immediately going into mop up operations.

The size of the fire was reportedly approximately to be three acres.

FISHER 231 FIRE | WASHINGTON| NEWLY REPORTED

WASHINGTON STATE

UPDATE 1 – 8/1/2018 – 1500 HOURS PDT – A wildfire ignited on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, and fire assets were deployed on 1729 hours PDT with multiple resources, along with two fire bosses on order.

The fire is burning about nine miles north of Reardan in Lincoln County, Washington State.

Around 1750 hours, the fire behavior had increased to torching and running. burning about 20-25 acres.

Level 3 evacuations were in effect for those around the Moore Road and 231.

At 1809 hours, a heavy air tanker was inbound.

WA STATE FIRE | HARSTINE FIRE | NEWLY REPORTED

WASHINGTON STATE

UPDATE 1 – AUGUST 1 , 2018 – 1445 HOURS PDT – A wildfire was reported on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, with two helicopters en route to the fire line at 1852 hours PDT.

The fire has burned approximately 19 acres and crews have successfully reached a 60% containment status.

NEWLY REPORTED | CUTTHROAT FIRE | WASHINGTON

MAZAMA, WASHINGTON

UPDATE 1 – JULY 31 2018 – 0600 HOURS PDT

Incident Summary

A wildfire named the CUTTHROAT FIRE is burning about 13 miles west of Mazama, in the Methow Ranger District which was detected on July 29, 2018 and reported at that time as a 125-acre.

Resources deployed on Sunday, July 29th at that time were a 20-person crew, smoke jumpers and a helicopter dropping water as well as water tanker dropping retardant over the fire line.Area Closure Map for Cutthroat Fire on July 30, 2018.

During that time, 6 trails were closed including the Pacific Crest Trail at Rainy Pass due to the wildfire.

Current Fire Status

Fire has burned 25 acres which is located in heavy timber and inaccessible area of the Methow Valley Ranger District.

The fire was started by lightning which roared over the dry lands this past weekend ignited this fire and 21 other fires. Most have been kept small and are out or holding to less than .5 acre.

Closures in the area including the following locations due to the wildfire burning in the area:

  • Cutthroat Lake Trail #483 and trailhead
  • PCT #2000 from Rainy Pass to the Jct of West Fork Methow Trail #480
  • Blue Lake Trail #314
  • Rainy Lake Trail #310
  • Maple Pass Trail #310
  • Maple Pass Trail
  • Bridge Creek Trailhead; where the PCT crosses Hwy 20
  • Lone Fir Campground
  • Washington Pass Overlook
  • Road #400 to Cutthroat Lake Trailhead

Hwy 20 remains open.

NEWLY REPORTED | COUGAR CREEK FIRE | WASHINGTON STATE

OKANOGAN – WENATCHEE NATIONAL FOREST , WASHINGTON

UPDATE 1 – JULY 31, 2018 – 0550 HOURS PDT

A wildfire is burning about 20 miles northwest of Entiat and near Plain. It is burning in the Mad River area on the Entiat Ranger District.

Fire fuels include heavy timber, snags and logs in very steep inaccessible terrain.

It was detected July 29, 2018 and started by an unknown ignition. Cause is still being determined and is under investigation.
