Snohomish County Airport Fire Department Paine Field is currently accepting applications. All testing through National Testing Network (NTN) must be completed by April 13, 2013. Valid FireTEAM and NTN CPAT results are required for this position.
Salary Information: (2013) $4,953 to $6,022/month

Department Information: The Paine Field Fire Department is staffed 24 hours each day to provide firefighting and medical aid to aircraft incidents and structures on the Airport. The Department contracts a full time deputy sheriff to coordinate the security program of the Fire Department division and Paine Field Airport maintains a fire apparatus repair shop staffed by two full time firefighter/mechanics that maintain the Airport apparatus, ARFF equipment at the Washington State Fire Academy, the Fire Department fleet for the City of Mukilteo and is available for emergency repair of any fire apparatus in the region.
The Fire Department staff at Paine Field consists of 4 Captains, 6 firefighters, 2 firefighter/mechanics, 1 Deputy Sheriff and a Public Safety Manager.
Airport Information: Paine Field is a unique airport. It is home to over 615 aircraft, including small, single engine recreational aircraft, corporate jets and brand new Boeing 747s. Located about 30 miles north of downtown Seattle, the airport offers high quality aviation facilities, including an FAA tower, Cat 1 ILS, Part 139 certification, FBO services and good access to Seattle and the eastside cities of Bellevue and Redmond.
The Airport is home to the Boeing manufacturing plant for 747, 767, 777, and 787 aircraft and recently saw the first flights of the first four 787 Dreamliners and the first two 747-8 Freighters.
Paine Field has become a major tourist destination with the opening of the new Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour, the Flying Heritage Collection, and the Historic Flight Foundation.

Valid WASHINGTON State Driver’s License: Valid Washington State Commercial Driver’s License within three (3) months of employment.
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Prior Experience:
Candidate must have one of the following:* One (1) year as a professional firefighter
* Two (2) years as a part-paid/volunteer firefighter
* Three (3) years as a military ARFF firefighterDefinition of experience:
* One (1) year as a professional fire fighter” means that the candidate has at least one year of full-time employment as a professional fire fighter in a public, municipal or fire district fire department. The candidate must have successfully passed the probationary period in his/her department and have been assigned to a fire fighting position on a regular shift schedule. Experience as a professional fire fighter must be within the prior twelve months.
* Two (2) years as a part-paid/volunteer fire fighter” means that the candidate has at least two years continuous service in a public, municipal or fire district fire department that has an active part-paid program. The candidate must have successfully passed the probationary period in his/her department and have been assigned to a fire fighting position. The candidate must have annually logged a minimum of 600 hours assigned residence/sleeper or on-duty time. Experience as a volunteer fire fighter must be within the prior twelve months.
* Three (3) years as a military ARFF fire fighter” means that the candidate has a minimum of three years service in any branch of the U.S. military where his/her primary assignment is or was as an aircraft fire fighter. Experience as a military ARFF fire fighter must be within the prior twelve months.CPAT Required: Yes, through National Testing Network
Medical: Ability to meet the medical and physical requirements as specified in the Washington State Administrative Code, WAC 296-305, Safety Standards for Firefighters and WAC 296-842, Respirators
Vision: Must meet the vision requirements specified in NFPA 1582 Comprehensive Occupational Medical Program for Fire Departments Section 6.4 Eyes and Vision
Special Requirements:
IFSAC FF I Certification.Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Certification.
Must have a current EMT certification which is recognized in the State of Washington and can be registered in Snohomish County without further training.
Ability to successfully complete the training of the Washington State Fire Academy as required.
Must pass criminal history background check.
Must pass drug and alcohol test and will be candidate for random drug testing.
Disqualifier:
Evidence that the applicant has willfully provided false or misleading information during the application process, in his/her written application or Personal History Statement, or has cheated during any testing in the application process will result in disqualification.Additional Information:
