Manhattan, NY – A 6-alarm fire broke at in the early hour morning hours in Upper Manhattan located at 2861 Broadway, which is at the corner of Broadway & 111th.
Over 200 firefighters worked most of Saturday to fight the blaze and continue at the time of this post.
The two-story commercial bank [City Bank] fire caused significant damage to the branch. It was unknown if safety deposit boxes or other important items were damaged or destroyed in the fire. They are still looking at the damange.
Around 1515 West Coast Time, fire was reported as being “Under control”.
Three firefighters were being treated at nearby hospitals for minor injuries, while four other people had received smoke inhalation and are receiving medical care.
An unconfirmed report states the cause of the fire is possibly an electrical issue, but will have to be investigated after FIU searches for a true cause.
