1928: Between September 6 – 20, a Hurricane killed 1836 people in SE Florida.
1983: The Soviet Union admitted to the shooting down of Korean Air Lines flight 007. They said the pilots were not aware that their target was a civilian aircraft.
1985: A Midwest Express Airlines DC-9 crashed just after takeoff from Milwaukee’s Mitchell Field. All 31 people aboard were killed.
