Incident Summary – A fire broke out on June 17, 2017 around 1215 hours from an unknown human caused ignition that is still under investigation. The fire is still burning on lands administered by the Brian Head Town in Iron County and the UT Department of Forestry, Fire and State Lands Divisions.

Date Started – The fire was reported on Saturday, June 17, 2017, from an unknown cause.

Current Conditions – Fire behavior is minimal currently but 71,673 acres has been destroyed. There is an 85% containment status.  Fire crews will continue to put out hot spots, improve lines around the fire perimeter; suppressing and rehabbing other areas.

Resources – There are 560 personnel on this incident along with 15 hand crews, 20 engines, 3 dozers and 3 helos (1 Type 1, 1 Type 2 and 1 Type 3).

Closures – The Dixie National Forest is still and will remain closed.

Evacuations – All evacuation orders have been lifted.
