Around 1754 hours PT, a wildfire named the BORDER 35 FIRE also known as BORDER FIRE broke out on Otay Mountain this afternoon.

Just after 1900 hours PT, the fire was said to be three-to-four acres with the forward rate of spread stopped.

Resources will be on the scene for the next three to four hours for mop-up operations.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Due to the quick egress actions by CAL FIRE, they were able to stop the fire from spreading and causing more damage to the area’s environment.
