Update 1 – June 7, 2023, 2130 PDT, Wednesday
The Soards Creek Fire was discovered on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 1742 hours PDT, which is suspected by Fire Officials as caused by lightning.
It is also known as Incident #N40596.
The fire is located at Soards Creek and about seven km southeast of Mica Creek Village in B.C., Canada.
Crews are currently using tactics of a combination of direct and indirect fire attack methods.
About 200 ha have been burned and this is still being classified as an out-of-control fire.
There are about two unit crews, eight single resources, approximately a total of 48 personnel along with one helicopter and three heavy equipment.
