GORGE (GRANT COUNTY), WASHINGTON — An active shooter incident occurred at the infamous Washington State Gorge Amphitheater campground where music fans can camp out during the weekend or week to see their favorite bands play and sing.

Update | The Grant County Sheriff’s Office states two people were killed and several were injured. | June 18, 2023

At 2047 hours, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office released a Nixle broadcast that there was an active shooter at the Gorge Amphitheater and people were instructed to Run. Hide. Fight.

At 2117 hours, the GCSO released that the active shooter was in custody. According to radio traffic, there were several broadcasts of one in custody and one detained.

Several people were said to have been injured requiring air and ground medical transports to area hospitals. Life Flight air ambulances had to two copters respond, while Fire units and two other AMR units also responded and transported patients.

Detectives were on the scene quickly and working to investigate this shooting and all of the details surrounding it. The Grant County Sheriff’s PIO was said to be also en route, if not on the scene as well to answer Media questions.
