A wildfire named the WEST HALLETT FIRE is burning about two miles west of Hwy 195, and north of Cheney Spokane Road near Cheney (Whitman County), Washington State.

The fire broke out on Monday, July 31, 2023, around 1340 hours PT from an unknown cause, has burned about 155 acres, and remains at a 0% containment status.

The fire is threatening urban infrastructure and timberland.

Some of the fire resources on this incident are local Fire Departments listed as Whitman County Fire District 14, Clark County Fire District 13, Snohomish County Fire District 22, Getchell Fire, Arlington/Stanwood Firefighters, City of Spokane FD, Spokane County Fire Districts 3, Rosalia Fire Department, and WA DNR, as well as, WA FMO (WSP), State Mob assets across Washington.

Red Cross Shelter is located at Cheney High School, 460 N. Sixth Street, Cheney, Washington 99004.
