The SOUTH FORK COMPLEX is burning northwest of Hyampom, California, where it is impacting multiple areas such as Trinity County, Shasta-Trinity, and the Six Rivers National Forests.
COMMUNITY MEETING: Tuesday, 8/22/2023 1800 hours
Veterans Hall, Post 9546 9201 CA-3 in Hayfork, CA
The Complex includes the following wildfires:
3-9 Fire. 5 miles west of the community of Hyampom. 412 acres. Level 1 evacuation (BE READY) for HYM-505 and 509 areas.
Pilot Fire. Southwest of Borad Camp Butte on both sides of FS 6N01 on the Six Rivers National Forest. 500 acres. 6% contained.
Pellitreau Fire. 3.4 acres. 100% contained.

Sulphur Fire. 33 acres. 75% contained.
Fires broke out last week on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 1847 hours, which is listed as a full suppression wildfire. There was a notable possible explanation of how lightning storms passed over the area recently.
Fire behavior has been observed as active with uphill runs, short crown runs, and short-range spotting. The Complex has a total of 948 acres of timber and brush that have been burned. The fire is currently at a 6% containment status.
There are about 432 total personnel assigned along with six hand crews, 47 engines, nine dozers, and eight water tenders.
Fire Command is under the direction of California Incident Management Team 11.
The cause of the fire has been undetermined and there is an ongoing investigation in effect.
Currently, Fire Officials state the fire has now had any significant fire growth in the last 24 hours.
