MIDDLESEX COUNTY, MASSACHUSETTS — A 3-alarm fire in the 1800 block of Moody Street has also burned three buildings in the 900 block in Waltham.

This is said to be a multiple dwelling with reports of entrapment with one possible victim. (unconfirmed)

Responding and on-the-scene firefighters and equipment include the following:

Waltham Fire Department.

Cambridge Fire Department: Engines 5 & 9, Ladder 4, Squad 4, & Division 2. (Mutual Aid)

Multiple unconfirmed sources reported that the fire had been mostly knocked down at 1821 hours ET.

FIRE HISTORY ON MOODY STREET

03/07/2023: 300 block. Firefighters were quickly on the scene of a dryer fire inside an apartment building. This was around 0715 hours and reported to be located above a business. There were no injuries to tenants, citizens, or firefighters. The cause was not determined at the time of the update given on the date it occurred.

09/18/2021: 200 block. Firefighters were dispatched on a Saturday evening around 1630 hours to a commercial structure fire, at an apartment complex at the Cronins Landing Apts. The fire was out by sprinklers.

10/20/2018: 300 block. A fire broke out at the Metro PCS store on a Friday night. Firefighters were quickly on the scene.

02/2018: Unknown date of fire that occurred off of Moody.

01/03/2016: 750 block. 3-alarm fire. Commercial structure fire a the Bubbles Laundry and an attached convenience store. Portions of the roof were impacted by fire breaking through the roof in sections.

12/11/2015: 600 block. A kitchen fire occurred on the 2nd floor of a 3-story brick apt building.

06/24/2015: Moody Street. Commercial structure fire. Ruled arson and the Fire Department offered $5,000 for tips leading to the arrest of the arsonist.

02/22/2014: 300 block. A small fire broke out in a fish tank in a restaurant.

02/18/2014: Orange Street. A home behind the Brasco Funeral Home goes up in flames. All occupants made it out safely.
