LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

CLOSED: LA County Lifeguards closed the parking at Royal Palms Beach until further notice due to flooding and debris from a large swell that rushed into the area. (posted 1316 PST)

CLOSED: A bike path is closed by the same agency around the same time in Redondo/Torrance from Avenue C through Torrance until further notice. (posted 1316 hours PST)

A High Surf Advisory was issued by the National Weather Service Los Angeles this morning around 0830 hours PST. Large swells were reported and are being tracked by Officials.

CLOSED: On December 29th, the NWS Los Angeles issued a Flooding and High Surf Warning for the areas of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles County coastal area.

CLOSED: Other areas would follow suit, including the lurking dangers around the Pier in Manhattan Beach City was also closed on Friday and will remain so until tomorrow. (Sunday)

This is a normal occurrence that happens around this time of year in these areas but these seem to be growing more intense due to climate change.

Fire and First Responders are ready to respond to these impending incidents but they urge those to be safe when Officials broadcast these types of safety messaging or also known as Public Service Announcements (PSAs).
