INCIDENT SUMMARY

A human-caused wildfire started on December 14, 2024, located in the Payson Ranger District in the Tonto National Forest in Arizona. It is about 17 miles northeast of Payson in timber and chaparral.

As of this morning’s update, the fire has burned about 1,074 acres and has a 17% containment status.

RESOURCES

There are approximately 169 total personnel battling this fire, along with two crews, eight engines and a single helicopter.

The CTD as of today’s update is $1.6 Million Dollars.

CURRENT STATUS

The fire behavior has been observed as minimal with backing, creeping, and smoldering
