INCIDENT SUMMARY
The BURDOIN FIRE is located about five (5) miles west of Lyle (Klickitat County) along the Columbia River and north of Hwy 14, near White Salmon and Bingen, Washington State (USA).

DATE/TIME FIRE STARTED
The fire was said to have started on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 1429 hours PDT.
CAUSE
The cause is undetermined and under investigation.
CURRENT STATUS
SIZE UP: The fire has burned about 1,900 acres of grass, brush, and timber. There is a 0% containment status. FIRE BEHAVIOR: Fire behavior has been observed as active with running, single tree torching, and spotting. STATE MOBE DEPLOYED: Multiple Fire agencies, personnel, and equipment have been deployed from Snohomish County, Whatcom County, and from throughout the State to respond to this fire. DAMAGE ASSESSMENT: Some assessments are coming in. See the separate section for the details.
EVACUATIONS IN EFFECT
EVACUATIONS IN EFFECT: Level 1, 2, and 3 evacuation orders are in effect. LIVESTOCK EVACUATION SHELTER: Contact KCEOC 509-773-0570. SHELTER: Red Cross Columbia HS, C Court Building, off of NW Simmons Road in White Salmon.
DAMAGE ASSESSMENT
LOST: Three homes. THREATENED: 20 homes. DAMAGED: five homes. COST-TO-DATE: Cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts: $300,000.
INCIDENT COOPERATORS
INCIDENT RESOURCES: Incident Commander: Leonard Johnson, SE WA Type 3 IMT. 57 total personnel with 15 engines, and two (2) helicopters. ON ORDER: SE WA TYPE 2 IMT.
INFRASTRUCTURE
KLICKITAT PUD: On Friday, the utilities company released a statement that they responded to damage caused by the fire in the Courtney Road area. Power was restored to parts of the area through an alternate feed, and they were working to mitigate the more rural areas, which may take a little longer. The conditions were reported as the terrain is rugged, and there is limited access. They state that an assessment on structural loss will be updated as assessments are completed. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM DOWNED POWER LINES. ALWAYS ASSUME THEY ARE ALIVE. Call KPUD or 911.

WASHINGTON STATE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIVISION: (Camp Murray). At 1637 PDT on Friday afternoon, the SW WA IMT stated that the SE Team 2 was on order.

Arlington/Stanwood Firefighters IAFF Local 3438: Photo Credit. The Fire Agency sent two teams. NW Team 1: Strike Team Lead (t) K. Johnson and NW Team 2: Brush 46 with Gilman, Officer and Sato, and Thuringer.
