THROUGH THE EYES OF SOCIAL MEDIA
HILARY FRANZ: “These fires in the PNW continue to be heartbreaking. The Burdoin Fire in Klickitat is an extremely challenging fire, with significant winds, in rugged, difficult terrain, filled with poison oak that gets in our firefighters’ eyes and lungs, making an already difficult fire even harder to fight. It has already displaced so many in the community and, sadly, taken everything from others. Each day, it is roughly doubling in size. I remember the challenges the Tunnel 5 Fire presented just west of here in 2023.”
