This agency, also known as “CIFR) is a combination Fire Department with full-time, part-time, and volunteer firefighters working together as one unit. Their vision is simple and clear: “the safest rural community in the State; a model of Excellence in Service.”

CIFR focuses on high-quality EMS, fire protection, technical, and public education responses to a rural community of approximately 17,000 residents serving all of Camano Island, Washington State.


They have four fully staffed stations providing BLS and ALS levels, while engaging directly within their communities, providing safety education, and proactive Fire Prevention.

Station 2: Country Club – 1326 Elger Bay Road. Houses: 1 Engine.

Station 3: Terry’s Corner – 525 E. North Camano Drive. Houses: BLS Unit.

Station 4: Vista/Madrona – 273 N. West Camano Drive. Houses: ALS Unit.

Station 5: Mabana – 3651 South Camano Drive. Houses: BLS Unit.

HQ/Admin: 811 North Sunrise Blvd.


Shifts are typically 48 hours on and 96 hours off, according to their website.
