MINERAL HILL, WA — Update 3 | 2105 PT | The fire has been contained at 1905 hours. It is holding to .17 acre.

C 93 HI 7108 SO 7201 SO 7208 were dispatched at 1004 hours PT to Mineral Hill Road in Okanogan County for a smoke check on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 1010 hours PT.

The smoke check call turned into a wildfire related incident.

Fire crews have stopped the forward progression of the fire and are holding it to 0.5 acres of grass, brush and shrub. It is 100% lined with a 50% mop-up status.

WA | Frosty Creek Road

OKANOGAN COUNTY, WASHINGTON — A smoke check has prompted the WA DNR-NEC dispatch center to deploy HI 7112 to the area on Frosty Creek Road. The unit along with unknown resources were deployed at 1616 hours PT on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

Resources were en route to the area at 1619 hours PT.

This is a new incident. We will update as soon as information is received or there is significant fire activity.

The RAIL FIRE is located on Rail Canyon Road in Stevens County, that was sparked by an unknown ignition on Saturday, May 22nd.

The Incident # is NES-1583.

Resources AR29, AR7401 and 7412 were dispatched at 1845 hours PT on Saturday for a smoke check to Rail Canyon Road that would quickly turn into a wildfire incident.

Units arrived at 1945 hours PT, which were dispatched via the WA DNR Dispatch Center.

The IC is Saul Bergman.

About 0.1 acre of slash blowdown has been burned. The incident is currently staffed.

SIT REP 2 | MAY 22, 2021 | 2032 PT

Resources AR29, AR7401 and 7412 were dispatched at 1845 hours PT for a smoke check to Rail Canyon Road has now turned into a wildfire incident.

Both the size of the fire and containment status are unknown at the time of this post.

Units arrived at 1945 hours PT, which were dispatched via the WA DNR Dispatch Center.

SIT REP 1 | MAY 22, 2021 | 1743 PT

AR 29, AR 7401 and 7412 were dispatched via the WA DNR Dispatch Center to Rail Canyon Road for a smoke check at 1845 hours PT.

Fire resources are en route at 1900 hours PT to the Stevens County, Washington State fire.

Washington Wildfires in April 2017

We had a little bit of time to research how Washington State is doing with its fire activity and this is what we found for April so far.  Info is gleaned from the Wildcad Dispatch logs.

WILDFIRE

Dancing Bear Fire

Okanogan County.  Crews were dispatched at 1624 hours PDT to a wildfire of grass and brush burning in the Okanogan County area.  Crews arrived and contained the fire to 5.15 acres at 1758 hours PDT.

Lake Valley Wildfire

Lincoln County – Fishtrap. 0.07 acres of grass burned.  Resources dispatched at 0919 hours PDT on April 2, 2017.  Brought under control by BLM resources at 2200 hours PDT.

SMOKE CHECKS

Rehmke Smoke

Okanogan County – Rehmke Rd. Crews were dispatched to this location at 0800 hours PDT on April 26, 2017, for a possible wildfire but found no fire.

RMP Smoke Check

Spokane County – Chattaroy.  Crews were dispatched at 1409 hours PDT on April 25th for a possible wildfire but found a legal burn with no escape.

Koontz Rd Piles

Lewis County – Koontz Rd.  Crews were dispatched on April 4th to the Lewis County area around 1504 hours PDT where a wildfire of slash and grass were reported as burning.  Approximately, 2 acres were destroyed and crews turned it back over to the landowner.

New

Central Washington Interagency Communications Center – 18295 Little Chumstick Creek, unknown City but Google Maps places it inside the town of Leavenworth’s City limits.  Crews were dispatched to a Smoke Check but instead found a 30 x 30 brush fire.  Resources arrived on scene and determined it had a low ROS.
