Incident Summary
The North Moore fire started on June 9th around 1700 hours from lightning located about 5 miles North of Little Sahara Rec area’s main gate and NW of Redding. The fire has scorched sagebrush grass and the torching of pinyon-juniper trees.
The fire has consumed 1,427 acres and has reached a 30% containment status.

Command of this fire is being managed by BLM’s Fillmore Field Office-West Deserit District Utah IMT3 Team ICs Brett Ostler and Nels Rasmussen (T).
127 Firefighters are assigned to this incident along with aircraft and engines.
Fire Status
Firefighters have fought the fire with aerial drops along with crews and engines keeping the fire under control despite strong winds. Fire crews used an air tanker, four planes, six engines, a bulldozer and additional firefighters on the ground to battle the blaze.
Weather
Winds are due to gain strength with them coming out of the SW 12-20 mph with gusts up to 55 mph accompanied with rain showers.
