Since, the inception of this blog on January 29, 2012, we have received overwhelming support and positive comments about our site.  We have had over 136 posts with over 100 comments.  Wow!

As we continue to improve our site including everything from Fire Fighting to EMS, we have been presented with another great opportunity.  Here’s where we call on our friends and family in the Fire and EMS Communities to join in on a book project.

We feel so strongly about this project, we are enlisting “you, the Fire fighter, Medic and EMS” to help create this book.  Tentatively, we are calling this “All in A Day’s Work” but as it evolves, so may the title.

Here’s how it works… We are looking for answers to the following questions and we will create the content.  We are looking for approximately 40-50 solid posts to be included in our book (novel length).  We will then include your name, department (unless you wish to remain anonymous) and a little bio about yourself to be attached to each blog post or in the acknowledgements (still a work in progress).  It will then be sent to an editor and then we are looking at possible e-publishers.

What a great way to share with friends and family what you “really” do, use it as a gift to someone you care about or keep it share as part of your legacy.  As a contributor to the published book, you will receive a free signed copy from us.  What a great opportunity to be part of an awesome book project being all about “Firefighting and EMS”!

Here’s a few questions to get you started:

1)  Your name, title (firefighter, Lt., Capt. or EMS Supervisor), agency representing.

2)  Your time in the Department or Agency.

3)  What inpsired you to enter into the EMS field or Fire Service?

4)  What keeps you motivated or encouraged to continue working in your profession?

5)  What obstacles have you overcome to achieve a successful career?

6)  Do you have a funny story you wish to share?

7)  What advice do you have for others seeking to fall into your footsteps?

8) Are the best things you like about your job?

Our tentative book title is, “All In A Day’s Work, Living the Dream”, (a very fluid evolving title which will probably change near publication).  We hope that you will get involved in our book project, because we know the best stories come directly from you all.

As the book evolves, we will keep you all posted as to how we are doing, current updates and when we are getting close to publishing.  Possibilities for publishing are endless from e-books to hard backs.
