Are you just entering in the Fire Service or EMS?  Are you a Fire Explorer or Recruit?  What is it like to go through the Fire Training Academy or training program?  Have you recently graduated and now a Probie?  What is life-like inside a firehouse? Are you now a career firefighter?  What helped you get through the beginning times as an applicant to where you are now?

As a person interested in the medical field.  What led you to this decision? i.e. your compassion to help others, illness in the family, friend or family recommendation, a traumatic event or just an interest?  What process did it take to get the trainee position (if that’s what it is called in all places) or position?  What training did you go through or are you going through now? Please share with us.

The public perceives many things that happened as a firefighter and they don’t realize how hard it truly is getting to point A to point B; the determination you put into making it through the application process, interview and then the difficulty of training.  I know this and you know this, but let’s hear it in your words.  We will be looking at transforming this into a story or who knows, a book from all of your blog posts.  Another great topic to create an informational, fun stories, “Through the Eyes of a Firefighter.”; “Life in Emergency Services; Dialed in For Life.”

To help you prepare for what we are looking for, maybe in Journal format.  i.e. Either daily or weekly thoughts, special events, obstacles, goals to reach, etc.

Journal entries can be sent several different ways,

Email:  FIRSTALARMIMAGES@yahoo.com.  Include your name, agency (or state from), email address, contact info, info can be typed in an email or scanned in as a PDF file.

FaceBook:  Can send through FB page – Lisa Wurn Swenson.

Any spamming through either sites will be automatically deleted.  Some posts may be edited for formatting purposes.

Hope you all enjoy and looking forward to seeing some your stories coming through.  Be safe out there!
