The Hamilton Fire Department’s high-angle rescue team was called out shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday to retrieve a walker slipped off the Red Hill trail near Lawrence Road.
It is unknown if the victim is a man or a woman.
Officials say the person injured a leg in the fall and was stranded below the Red Hill Valley Parkway overpass.
The victim had hurt their leg and couldn’t move from beneath the overpass at Red Hill Creek.
Fire Safety Officer Dave Christopher says firefighters have secured the person on a stretcher and used rope rescue to lift it to an ambulance waiting at King Street East.
Police Sgt. Terry-Lynn Collings said the southbound ramp from King to Red Hill was closed.
More to come.
