Filing Timeline for Firefighter Safety Standards

The timeline for filing the proposed rules to Chapter 296-305 WAC, Safety Standards for Fire Fighters has been changed. The proposed rules will now be filed on August 21, 2012 and the updated timeline is as follows: 

  • CR 102 Filing:  August 21, 2012
  • Public Hearings:  September 25, 2012 in Spokane and October 2, 2012 in Tumwater
  • Deadline for Public Comments:  October 12, 2012
  • CR 103 Filing:  January 4, 2013
  • Effective:  January 1, 2014

Please note that the date for the Spokane public hearing has not changed. The effective date has also been updated to reflect a delay in enforcement of the rule. The length of delay is the same as for the original rule package.
