Two St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana deputies were shot and killed Thursday morning and two other deputies were injured in what Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre called an “outright ambush.”

St. John Parish Sheriff Tregre reported that an officer was working a security detail near the Valero Oil Refinery. He was shot in the parking lot of the refinery about 5 a.m. Tregre did not release the details of the incident.
