The fire blog team decided to go on a fun trip over to Eastern Washington this time to the Kittitas County fair and parade.

This is what we spy’ed.

This was one of several pieces of fire apparatus used in the Talyor Bridge Fire event. This was parked next to the Fire/Sheriff building at the Kittitas County fair. Kittitas Valley Fire Brush Truck #291. (c) 2012 Lisa Swenson
A former ambulance has been turned into a clown car. This once iconic ambulance once served a purpose somewhere….now used by clowns in parades. Taken in the Kittitas County Parade in Ellensburg, Washington. (c) 2012 Lisa Swenson

The Ellensburg Police Department drove this rig through the Kittitas Co Parade with a slogan “Walk in Their Shoes” ending violence against women. Police Officers were observed wearing red high schools. It was definitely a sight to see but a very real issue in the police and fire worlds. (c) 2012 Lisa Swenson
Officers walk in a “women’s” shoes to help with their message in helping end violence against women. (c) 2012 Lisa Swenson
Nelson Fire Brigade in Thorp, Washington’s fire apparatus seen driving slowly through the Kittitas Parade. Nice antique! (c) 2012 Lisa Swenson
Lots of fire apparatus with political candidates shouting out their messages. This is a great former fire apparatus that once responded to calls. Now, it is being today used for political explorations. (c) 2012 Lisa Swenson
