Though this is an old story, but it is still inspiring in light of everything that has been happening in our shattered world lately of hatred and discontentment.  Here is an inpsiring story that will light up your soul and bring joy to your heart in how kids and firefighters compliment each other so well.

This is about a story about a brave little boy named Brandon, 5 (at the time of story) in 2003, who was with the Make-A-Wish Foundation program.  His wish was simple:  have a fire station bedroom.  Arizona firefighters came to the rescue and delivered.

Responses provided by Brandon’s mom, Jennifer.

Q: Why did you choose this wish?

Brandon’s firestation bedroom is fully equipped, it even had a pole!

A: At the time, Brandon had extreme difficulty regulating his body heat and couldn’t play outside much in our Arizona heat. His fire station allows his imagination to run wild and play all he wants inside.

Q: What was one of your favorite memories from the wish?

A: Everyday is a memory! Even five years later, he still plays in his fire station everyday; going on calls, putting out fires or cleaning his rig. Firefighting has become his passion, we have visited firestations all over the country and met some wonderful people! His friends love to come over and play where they can just be kids and have a great time; no video games, no computers…just your imagination and some really cool gear.

Q: What’s your medical diagnosis now?

A: Brandon is doing great! For the first time in 10 years he received a great report from the cardiologist in December. A couple of things to watch but nothing to stress over. Woo hoo!

Q: What are some of the highlights of your life now?

Brandon has visited fire stations all over the country confirming his passion to one day become a firefighter himself!

A: He is doing very well in school right now and has had very few sick days this year. His passion is to become a firefighter one day and I’m sure he will find a way to do that!

Q: What did your wish mean to you?

A: ”It’s made my life better because I get to play and fight fires all the time and pretend to be a real firefighter”

Q: What do you want to tell people about the Make-A-Wish Foundation?

A: “Make-A-Wish has really helped my life and inspired me with their great work. All the volunteers are super sweet and they really care for the kids. Thank you, Make-A-Wish!”

“Children see magic because they look for it.”
