April 6, 2013 – Binghampton, NY – Firefighter Janos and his crew responded to an AFA around 0021 Hours overnight, at 23 Henry Street.  They climbed the stairs to check the building. 

After the call, he wasn’t feeling well thinking it was indigestion. Crews checked on him around 0730 Hours and found Firefighter Janos deceased in the bunkroom at the Qunit 21-3 station. 

He is a 24 1/2 year veteran of the City of Binghampton Fire Department. He is survived by friends and his fire family.
