Camano Island, WA | A boil-water advisory for the Camano City Community Club on Camano Island has been lifted after the system was disinfected and lab results confirm the water now meets safe drinking-water standards.
This water system serves 127 homes in the middle of Camano Island on the western shore.
The advisory was issued on Jan. 16 after lab tests on routine water-quality monitoring samples showed potentially harmful E. coli bacteria in the water.
A regional engineer for the Department of Health inspected the water system and believes the contamination was linked to frequent power outages that caused a water-pressure loss allowing contaminants into the system.
Water and Wastewater Services, which manages the water system, notified residents that the advisory is over Wednesday afternoon.
Residents who have questions about their water quality can call 360-466-4443.
