Correction to closure notice of Collins Family Orchard located at the Ballard Farmers Market in Seattle:

Only the food sampling portion of the business* was closed by a Public Health food inspector on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 11:46 am due to the following food safety violations:

  • Poor personal hygiene practices: Failing to wash hands prior to handling fruit samples
  • Imminent health hazard: No soap available and paper towels inaccessible at handwashing facilities

*The business may remain open for selling food items exempt from permit.

The food sampling portion of the establishment will be reopened once the inspector confirms that all issues have been resolved.
