If this didn’t happen to me, I wouldn’t have believed it. Last Friday, I stopped into my local Whole Foods to buy a quick and tasty barbeque chicken for dinner so the usual hoards of Halloween trick or treaters wouldn’t make me grumpy at the stove.
I brought the chicken into the kitchen, took out the already made salad from the refrigerator, and went to serve dinner. Easy right? You could smell the delicious spices from the chicken but when I went to take the leg and thigh portion, it was red.
Undercooked chicken can cause Salmonella, even if it’s organic. I threw it out, called Whole Foods and said if I brought back the container to the store, I could receive a refund. What’s for dinner? I always have canned Bar Harbor Foods canned soups on hand, so I opened up a can of New England Clam Chowder
