Firefighters have been able to fight the fire under favorable conditions from measurable rainfall.  If this continues, Fire Managers predict this event will be completely contained by Sunday evening.

Power, cell phone and landlines are still currently down. The SCE Power substation sustained damage from wind and fire yesterday. Crews are currently working to restore power and are hopeful they’ll be able to restore services by 1100 hours on Sunday morning.

The fire has destroyed 40 residences and outbuildings and burned ten miles of timber.

  1. “The fire has destroyed 40 residences and outbuildings and burned ten miles of timber.” refers to another fire, possibly the Round Fire. There were no structures burned in the Van Dyke Fire.
