WE WILL NEVER FORGET: September 26, 2001

New York City, NY | Hundreds of people began the daunting process of filing for death certificates for family members still missing in the ruins of the World Trade Center. At the time more than 6,300 people were still missing.

About 500 Lawyers worked free of charge at the Family Assistance Center and other locations in NYC, helping many families fill out paperwork and with the emotional responsibilities with the required ID that their Loved one was in the World Trade Center.

Sources say New York’s Law requires persons to wait up to three years in some cases but because of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, an exception to the Law was made to allow them within days of the application.

At this time, 600 bodies were recovered with over 200 identified.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET is a Tribute we give to the Fallen in Public Safety but lift those up today in REMEMBRANCE of ALL who perished on September 11, 2001 and the continued Lives being lost related to this terrorist attack on American soil. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.

Please take a moment today and remember the many Lives lost and for their families, friends, co-workers and those impacted. We will do the same. Thank you. – Lisa Swenson
